LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. – A 39-year-old Anaheim man was killed Sunday after losing control of his Kawasaki motorcycle on the Ortega Highway and knocking over two other cyclists in the collision. The motorcyclists were traveling together Sunday afternoon near the Lookout Roadhouse when the Anaheim man lost control of his sport bike and was run over by another driver on a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, police said.
The Suzuki driver, a 44-year-old man also from Riverside, reportedly had major injuries that required him to be transported to the hospital. Police said the man was taken to the Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
The crash also interrupted the path of a third motorcycle driver who was forced to lay down his bike to avoid hitting the others, police said. The 22-year-old was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene of the incident, police said.
The man who died was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but police said he appeared to be speeding and lost control of the motorcycle, officials said.
